Theodore J. Cohen

Theodore J. Cohen heads the Firm's Investment Management Group and co-heads its Business and Transactional Department. Mr. Cohen specializes in representing investment advisors, domestic and off-shore hedge funds and other private investment vehicles in connection with business and regulatory matters. Mr. Cohen also represents clients in various corporate and securities matters, corporate and venture financings, mergers and acquisitions and general commercial matters. In addition, Mr. Cohen has extensive experience managing complex litigation and has successfully litigated against several Fortune 1000 companies in financial services related matters involving complex financial instruments and relationships.  Mr. Cohen is also experienced in representing senior executives and management teams in negotiations with employers and joint venture partners relating to employment agreements, limited liability company and partnership agreements and a variety of equity-based and other compensation arrangements.

Mr. Cohen has practiced law for more than 20 years both in private practice and as a senior executive and legal officer, including serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of The Pilgrim Group, a mutual fund complex, including investment adviser and broker-dealer affiliates, with approximately $3 billion under management, and as Executive Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of MGM Communications Co., a multi-national entertainment and communications company.
